Mesh Network Association collects no personal data about you. The Mesh website and applications are designed so that nothing about you — your identity, your contacts, your conversations — ever reaches us. No cookies, no trackers, no analytics.
Who we are
Mesh Network Association (MNA) is a French non-profit association governed by the law of 1 July 1901, with its registered office at 1637 route de Chanes, 01360 Beligneux, France.
Scope
This policy applies to this website and to the Mesh applications for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux. It does not apply to third-party services you may use, such as Google Play, the App Store or the download CDN.
No data is collected
The Mesh applications contain no account, phone number, email address, registration, telemetry or advertising. The protocol works without personal information about you. Technical connection data necessarily processed by download and app-store providers is described below.
No cookies, no trackers
The website sets no cookies and embeds no tracking scripts. The applications contain no analytics and no usage tracking of any kind.
Everything stays on your device
Your cryptographic keys are generated on your device and stored in its secure storage. Messages are stored locally on your device. Your contacts are stored locally too. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
End-to-end encryption
Messages are end-to-end encrypted using modern public-key cryptography (X25519) and signed so their authenticity can be verified. They transit through relay servers that only forward encrypted traffic; relay operators cannot read message content.
Recovery phrase
Your recovery phrase allows you to restore your keys on a new device. It is generated on your device, shown to you only, and never sent anywhere. Never share it: anyone in possession of it can read your messages.
Third parties
Desktop builds and updates are delivered through download.mesh-network.org using Cloudflare infrastructure. The desktop application contacts it only after a manual request or if you explicitly enable a daily update check; Cloudflare necessarily processes technical connection data such as your IP address. Android and iOS builds are distributed through Google Play and the App Store. Their respective privacy policies apply to those services. The Mesh source code is not currently public.
Children
Our services are not directed to children and do not collect any data, including from minors.
Your rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification and erasure of your personal data. Since we collect and store no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. Any personal data you hold lives on your own devices.
